Wine 201 is a fun and easy exploration into the history of wine. You will explore wine from its ancient roots and Medieval heritage to its challenged arrival in America to its first and second Golden Ages. You will learn about the three travesties that challenged the very existence wine, rival beverages that contended (and won?) for primacy, and how technology and mother nature have each advanced and even saved wine over the ages. All in a fun and interactive atmosphere while tasting eight of Willowcroft’s great wines.
Woods will be hosting this seated tasting of eight wines in our “Press”tige Loft starting at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17th.
Many of you have had the chance to do a tasting with our local Wine Geek – Woods (yes…that is his first name). Woods has become an avid wine book reader and brings that knowledge of history of wine into his tastings. He is also a resource on local wines, having been to 130 Virginia wineries including all the wineries in Loudoun County (note…he chose to pour at Willowcroft!). If you have not had a chance to do a tasting with Woods, we can promise you will not be disappointed!
This event is limited to 15 people. The cost is $15 per person / $11.25 per club member. Please contact Kim with questions or to make a reservation: 703-777-8161 or email@example.com.
